Throughout ''The Space Between'' there are many twists and turns in the book. Jace the main character in the story has many different conflicts but the one that sticks out the most is when he his at the hotel resort in Mexico with Connor McPherson. Stephan Jaces older bother committed suicide and Connor threatened to do the same while at the resort. Jace had to calm Connor down and make sure that he wasn't actually serious about what he had said. Jace gave Connor a few choice words trying to get him to not think like that after what had just happened to his brother. From Jace giving Connor some advise about what he had thought of doing it made Connor think again about what he said to him. Jace did not want anyone else to go down the same path as his bother has.

If you were to be put in this situation what would you do ? Have you ever been in the position that Jace has been losing a close family member or friend ?

Jace a seventeen year old boy who is going to Mexico for his 18th birthday with his Mother, Aunt and 9 year old brother with autism. He has only one thing he wants to do while on his trip. While still being a virgin he wants to find a girl on the sunny beaches of Mexico. After his breakup with his girlfriend and his older brother Stephan committed suacide. Jace meets a girl named Kate. He thinks that Kate could be the one to help him lose his virginity. She leads him on only for her own enjoyment and not knowing how much she would hurt Jace by doing this. 

One of the flaws of Jace in the book is that he is set on trying to get lucky and he would do almost anything for it to happen. Jace being as determined as he was made himself extremely gullible while Kate took advantage of him for that. 

If you were to find out someone had taken advantage and lead you on like Kate did to Jace how would you react to this happening to you?
